Starting with chess in school is easy: take up the Chessity Diploma Challange. The Diploma Challenge is designed to help children learn the basics of chess and to introduce teachers to the use of Chessity step-by-step.

The children take up the challenge to obtain their Pawn Diploma in 12 weeks, with only half an hour of chess per week. You will learn how to coach your students in their learning process. Step-by-step you will get to know the basic functions of the program. The Diploma Challenge is designed to save teachers time. You can start right away.

The Diploma Challenge is ideal for first-time chess learners and teachers. Together you will go on an educational 'chess exploriation'. It's all about engagement in learning and getting a pleasure out of learning, which creates a lot of positive energy in the classroom.

Chessity helps you with four clear lesson plans that are precisely in line with the Diploma Challenge weeks. No long preparation, but just-in-time support. You will know exactly what you need to know at that moment to coach your students in their learning process.

You don't have to be able to play chess yourself to take on the Diploma Challenge with your students.

Are you up to the challenge? You will find everything you need in the Chessity Academy.

How it works

✓ Your students will spend 12 weeks learning to play chess for half an hour with Chessity. You decide when to plan these lessons.

✓ You don't have to be able to play chess yourself. You can rely on Chessity's chess knowledge and tactics. The little robot Chessto, the virtual chess teacher in Chessity, is perfectly capable of instructing and guiding the students in terms of chess teaching content.

✓ During the Challenge period you are supported with four lessons plans and extra materials (mini games, cheat posters). The lesson plans provide tips and tricks.  These lesson plans provide tips and tricks to make optimal use of the possibilities of Chessity and to help you keep your students super motivated to learn chess.

✓ In week 12, there will be a chess tournament in the school to complete the Diploma Challenge. All children can participate, even the weaker students. Finish the challenge festively with a graduation ceremony for all students who have obtained their Pawn Diploma.

✓ The Chessity Diploma Challenge is fully digital. Chessboards and chess pieces are not necessary, but you can use them additionally. We will help you with suitable chess games and extra materials.

✓ It is up to you to decide how many students participate. We advise you to take on the challenge with at least one class. The challenge is suitable for age 9 to 12; younger children can also participate, but will need a little more time.

✓ The Chessity Diploma Challenge is free of charge for premium Chessity users.

Tip for chess trainers and chess club

Do you want to teach chess at a school? Are you looking for co-operation with schools but you don't know exactly where to start? Or don't you have enough time to commit to a school for a longer period of time?

Then the Chessity Diploma Challenge offers an ideal package for introducing chess at an elementary school. In a short period of time, you work towards a exciting and concrete goal, without the teacher having to make an extra effort. Schools can carry out the challenge completely independently, but it becomes even more fun when a 'real chess player' visits the school several times during the challenge.

The Chessity Diploma Challenge is of course also very suitable for beginners groups at (after school) chess clubs.
